T.38
T.38 is an ITU standard for transmission of fax documents of IP networks. T.38 offers a high reliability of fax transmission over IP networks, as it is more resilient to packet loss than G.711 faxing. Furthermore, T.38 generally uses less bandwidth (as most fax modems operate at 14.4 kbps). T.38 is an increasingly supported standard in the industry.
