I just received my number. Does it already support incoming calls ?
=> No, without channels, your number won't work. You need to purchase channels and assign your number to those channels in order to be able to receive calls.

Are concurrent calls on the same number allowed ?
=> Yes. The number of channels you have available will determine how many simultaneous calls are allowed on a number.

What is a channel ?
=> A channel is the needed capacity to be able to receive a call. In the traditional PSTN world you would say that a T1 supports 24 channels and an E1 supports 30 channels, because you can receive/place 24 concurrent PSTN calls on a T1, and 30 on an E1.

What is a zone ?
=> A zone is a list of countries grouped together based on the cost of the channels in these countries. Channels are shared between all the numbers belonging to a zone.

How many zones do you provide ?
=> There are 4 geographical zones : A, B, C and World.

Where can I see which zone my country belongs to ?
=> In the zone price list, available via this link: http://www.voxbone.com/members/priceListCapacity.jsf

Why do channels have different prices according to their geographical zones ?
=> Because capacity prices differ from one country to the other.

Can I assign a number to any pool of channels ?
=> No. Channels and numbers must belong to the same zone.

Can I use the same channels for my VoxDID numbers, Vox800 numbers?
=> No, different channels must be used for different number types. This way you can configure the exact number of channels needed for each service.

Can I choose not to use channels for my number?
=> Yes, but the number will not work until it has been assigned to channels.

How many channels can I buy ?
=> You can buy as many channels as you want. However, you will be requested to fill in a "Trunk Forecast" online so that we can prepare your channels according to where you plan to use them. As soon as your trunk forecast has been validated by our provisioning team, you will receive the ordered channels. Channels are ordered in multiples of 10.

Is there a maximum number of channels a number can use?
=> Only in a few countries. Please check www.voxbone.com/restrictions.jsf for more information.

Some countries are not part of a zone, why ?
=> Some countries do not belong to a zone because, due to some local restrictions, their numbers cannot receive more than 2 simultaneous calls. Therefore, numbers in these countries are delivered with 2 channels by default which are included in the price of the number. It is not possible to assign them to more channels. Please check http://www.voxbone.com/restrictions.jsf to see which countries have this service restriction.
