What is VoIP origination ?

Call origination is a service where a provider offers to collect calls from the PSTN (POTS) and forwards the calls towards the customer network. Calls can be forwarded via VoIP or via the regular telephone network. When the calls are forwarded via VoIP we call it VoIP origination.

Why International VoIP origination ?

With Voxbone you can easily get VoIP origination from a remote area, city, or even from a foreign country. This is very useful if you need to collect calls from many different countries and wish to route all the calls to a central location. In the old PSTN days you had to order a PRI (E1 or T1) and colocate an equipment in each of the countries from which you wanted to collect traffic. This results in very high costs, and a very long time to market.

With the Voxbone VoIP origination service you can get a virtual E1 or T1 that covers all our cities. Just configure the capacity that you need and from which cities you wish to collect, and we do the rest !

Examples that illustrate the use of VoIP origination:
