Voxbone has reached a new milestone with the inclusion in a research report of a tier-1 independent market research company, Ovum! In the report, Ovum concludes that there has been progress in the availability and adoption of SIP trunking in Europe, compared to the situation as described in their previous report in 2009.
Its findings show that customer adoption of SIP trunking over the last years has been driven by consolidation and convergence of data and voice networks in large enterprises. Contact centers and conferencing services are driving demand in Europe. However, the fact that incumbent carriers are not promoting the service and regulatory complexity continue to stall the availability and adoption of SIP trunking, except for large enterprise customers and in a select group of countries. Regarding Voxbone, Ovum states:
“Voxbone (a wholesale provider only) has availability in the 27 EU countries and reach into other European countries. Voxbone provides wholesale SIP trunking services in Europe and it is likely that many retail service providers and large enterprise customers use them for extended reach in Europe.”
Following our appearance in this report, we commissioned Ovum to write a summary report. The report can be downloaded here
