Voxbone is the best-kept secret in cloud communications, but we’re ready for our close up! That’s where you come in. As we spread the word and bring more customers aboard, we need a Switching & Network Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Dublin.


You will work on the maintenance and expansion of the SS7 network and access points, distributed over Europe, the Americas and Asia. Part of your project will also be to work on our IP Network to increase and maintain our IP backbone and to participate actively in the production changes on our global infrastructure.


In essence, the Switching & Network Engineer is an escalation point for the NOC for all matters related to voice routing, switching and IP networks. You handle network changes, customers interconnections and take part in onsite operations during data canter maintenances.

 

You’ll work as part of a young and vibrant bunch of people across San Francisco, Austin, Los Angeles, London, Brussels, Iasi, Seoul and Hong Kong.

- Prepare and proceed with SS7 interop tests with incumbent operator

- Monitor and maintain the core network and the SS7 to VoIP gateways

Ensure update of systems

Ensure upgrade of capacity

- Monitor and maintain the core network and the routing equipment

Ensure update of systems

Interconnect customers and suppliers

Troubleshoot issues

- Act as an escalation point for the Voice & IP infrastructure always trying to keep up with Uptime

- Manage internal and external projects involving various suppliers (including hardware suppliers, data centres, and incumbents)


To bring the win, you’ll have…


- Master degree in IT/Telecom or equivalent by experience

- At least three years’ experience in the Telecom/Internet industry

- General knowledge of interop tests is a strong asset

- Expert of SIP & SS7 protocols and certification tests

- Experience of different types of switches

- IP routing protocols and designs is your passion

- Used to work with Linux, Asterisk and scripting syntaxes

- Technical writing is part of your daily life

- Self-motivation – your team can rely on you to get the job done

- Ability to prioritize in a dynamic, ever-changing environment

- You have great communications skills

- You are creative and able to work in highly critical situation

- Excellent written and oral skills in English, any other languages are always an asset

- Strong identification with Voxbone’s Strangely Simple Principles
