Site Reliability Engineer – Voice

Voxbone is the best-kept secret in cloud communications, but we're ready for our close up! That's where you come in. As we spread the word and bring more customers aboard, we need a Voice SRE Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Brussels, Belgium or Dublin, Ireland

The Voice SRE supports the core of Voxbone’s voice infrastructure in the current 65+ countries of operations. You are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the current infrastructure as well as the architecture and implementation of new features for our customers. You find creative solutions to solve difficult problems and tackle the unexpected

You will be responsible for the higher layer of our Voice infrastructure and will take end-to-end  implementation, monitoring and solving issues when they arise. The production environment you will be responsible for will span over the multiple POPs we have around Europe, the Americas, Australia and Asia

You will be working at a central position between the Systems, Research and Development, Product, Project, Network and NOC teams so our voice network can serve our customers

Because machines never sleep, you will also take part in an on-call rotation to solve problems at night and propose definitive solutions for them to lessen frequency of late night incidents.

You'll work as part of a great team of people across San Francisco, Austin, Los Angeles, London, Brussels, Iasi, Seoul and Hong Kong.

You will function as a member of the SRE team for Switching/Voice team. Creating bridges with all teams involved to improve our core business by advocating good practices, optimizing performance & reliability and providing guidance to the most effective solution. You ensure the solution meets all the requirements for availability, security, monitoring, alerting and scaling. You automate, test, challenge and demand to be challenged. You believe in “strong opinions, weakly held” and you’re eager to learn.

Voice Infrastructure

Installing, upgrading and maintaining 400+ Linux servers handling our Voice Network

Using Ansible to automate deployment and configuration

Implementing needed monitoring and suggesting improvements on the current install base

Creating, maintaining and updating ansible playbooks

Handling new software releases and deploying those on a large scale worldwide infrastructure

Guiding datacenter remote hands in order to install and maintain hardware in our various points of presence

Troubleshoot and maintain overall voice infrastructure and SIP interconnections

You have a good knowledge of Linux and base knowledge of SIP.

To bring the win, you'll have…

Master degree in IT or Telecom or equivalent by experience

At least three years’ experience in the IT or Telecom industry

Excellent knowledge of scripting languages like bash, Python & others

Excellent written and oral skills in English, any other languages are always an asset
