IP Communications Services Leader Listed Among World’s Most Promising Technology Companies
Brussels, Belgium – Jan 25, 2010 — Voxbone, an innovative provider of IP communications services, has been named to the Red Herring Global 100 list of the world’s top private technology companies.
Previous winners include such disruptors as Google, Yahoo, Skype, Netscape, Salesforce.com, YouTube and eBay.
“We are proud to have been selected for this prestigious honor,” said Rod Ullens, Voxbone CEO and co-founder. “The Red Herring recognition attests to our growing leadership as a next-generation infrastructure carrier that is driving global business expansion and adoption of advanced communications services.”
Voxbone offers service providers, multinational corporations, call center operators, conference call providers and other IP customers direct-inward-dial (DID) and iNum® numbers. These telephone numbers give customers local presence in foreign markets while enabling them to rapidly launch new services, such as high-definition voice and video, and reduce costs.
In 2009, Voxbone’s revenue increased 60 percent and inbound network traffic more than doubled from 2008. In addition, Voxbone has assigned 18 million iNum numbers since introducing that service slightly more than a year ago.
Winners for the 2010 edition of the Red Herring Global 100 award were selected from the regional recipients or finalists of the Red Herring 100 awards in 2007, 2008, or 2009 ranging from Asia, Europe, and North America. Voxbone was a Red Herring Europe 100 finalist last year.
“Choosing the best out of the previous three years was by no means a small feat,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “After rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed down our list from 1,200 potential companies to 200 finalists. Trying to get it down to 100 companies was a task upon itself. The top 100 companies who were chosen should be extremely proud, the competition was difficult.”
The Global 100 award is given to the top 100 global technology companies based on their technological innovation, management strength, market size, investor record, customer acquisition, and financial health.
